Bulgaria: Beyond the facts -- Early Warning System:
The Bulgarian Early Warning System monitors and reports on the political, economic and social trends in Bulgaria by
utilising two data sources: (a) objective data from government institutions - National Statistical Institute, Employment Agency, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, Bulgarian National Bank, as well as publications and data of the International Financial Institutions (World Bank and the IMF); (b) subjective data based on a nationally representative face-to-face opinion poll conducted by BBSS Gallup International at the end of every month. The nationally representative opinion poll comprises of a main sample size of
1,100 respondents (over 18 years of age), including additional booster sub-samples comprising of Roma and ethnic Turks. Data is disaggregated by age, sex, ethnicity, education, employment status (social group), district, type of settlement (urban-rural). Additional subjective data is collected via monitoring of national and local media. The analysis of the two sources of data is performed by BBSS Gallup International with a group of independent analysts. A more comprehensive and detailed interactive use of the entire early warning data is available on
www.earlywarning.bg
