Sublet your home, apartment or country house during the Olympic Games Do you have residential space available for rent during the Athens Olympics? The organisers of the Athens 2004 Olympics hope many Athenians will agree to sublet their homes to visitors arriving for the Games on package tours. According to Mr. Spyros Pappas, Accommodation Manager, Athens 2004 Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (ATHOC), there are 60,000 second summer houses in Attica... "There is a very high potential in these, since many [people] can rent their summer house and stay in their prime house or rent their prime house and stay in their summer house." He says that ATHOC reckons at least 10,000 homes will be made available. Read more at: Athens 2004 - Accommodation: The Olympic Challenge. If you have residential space -- an apartment, a house or a yacht -- available to rent in August 2004 -- mainly in the greater Athens area (Attica), but in some cases also on the islands close to Piraeus, in neighbouring areas of Attica (such as Loutraki, Halkis, etc.) and in the Olympic Cities of Patra, Thessaloniki, Heraklio (Crete) or Volos -- please contact us.
Law on subletting homes for the Athens 2004 Olympics On March 26th, 2003, the Greek government sent an amendment to parliament that sets the legal framework for the lease of homes by the public to host visitors of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, easing an accommodation shortage. Home owners will be able to rent out their homes from a minimum of three days to a maximum of two months from July 10th through September 10th, 2004. The measure applies to the prefectures of Attica, Corinth, Evia and Viotia. Premises offered for rent will have to meet government ordained specifications, and will be checked beforehand for compliance. (Source: ANA.) For further information,
